Specializing in feature film visual effects and animation for international and local producers, Toronto based digital studio, Mr. X Inc. is comprised of a unique and gifted team of artists, filmmakers and programmers devoted to the art, craft and technology of visual story-telling.
As an in-house Software Engineer at Mr X you will:
•Develop new tools and applications to assist CG artists in managing resources, render processes and CG assets,
•Provide support to individuals using these tools,
•Develop and distribute new systems and scripts and maintain relevant versions and libraries,
•Maintain and develop in-house rendering solutions,
•Troubleshoot specific technical production related issues with artists,
•Investigate and research emerging industry trends and new technologies, frameworks and methodologies with the goal of improving and developing the Mr. X Production Pipeline.
Qualifications:
•Extensive experience in the design and implementation of complex technology infrastructures,
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical degree with 3+ years experience in a software development environment required,
•Experience with C or C++, Python, OpenGL,
•Production experience as a Technical Director or Software Developer including experience with Maya/MEL, VRay and Houdini/HDK,
•Knowledge of SQL and stored procedures, database management and performance optimization,
•Knowledge of scripting in a Unix environment,
•Ability to select best methods and techniques for solving problems,
•Strong interpersonal skills, ability to meet timelines and work under pressure and strong analytical/problem solving skills are also required,
•Exceptional team work as well as being self-motivated to work under own initiative.
