Disney-owned Pixar plans to open a 20,000-square-foot animation studio in downtown Vancouver. The new facility is expected to open in the fall and create up to 100 jobs. Very good news!

Average salaries in British Columbia for 3d industry jobs for the 2008 year:
Jr. Animator - $51,400
Intermediate Animator - $60,200
Senior Animator - $75,200
Entry level software engineer - $50,800 plus $2,800 in bonus pay.
Senior lead engineer - $86,700 plus $8,800 in bonus pay.
