Pixar Canada now hiring

Pixar Canada the subsidiary of Pixar Animation Studios located in Vancouver will start training new staff next month, May 2010, and begin on its short 3d animation film by early August. Currently the company has several jobs listed on PixarCanada.com and plans to hire additional 35 employees over the next 18 months adding to the 20 employees currently working at the studio.

The studio will make short 3d animations using characters from Pixars feature films which will continue to be made at the headquarters in Emeryville, California. These short 3d animated films will air on Disney Channel, Disney.com, DVD and possibly other Television networks such as the Family channel or YTV.

It will take 30-55 people 3 to 9 months to complete one short animated film and through the studios pipeline system, work done in Vancouver can be seen immediately in Emeryville. All post production work on the animated short films will be done in California.

In partnership with Walt Disney Pictures, Pixars feature films include Toy Story, Toy Story 2, A Bugs Life, Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars, Ratatouille, Wall-E, Up and the upcoming Toy Story 3 to be released June 18, 2010.
