Walt Disney Acquires Lucasfilm, The Producer of Star Wars
Walt Disney has acquired Lucas Film from George Lucas the producer of Star Wars and Indiana Jones for $4.05 Billion. This is big news for the Film and Video Game industries because more job opportunities will be created and a new Star Wars movie is currently in production. When one studio closes down, a bigger one emerges. In May, 2012, 38 Studios closed down and layed off 380 employees but today, two new forces have merged, Disney and Lucasfilm. On Tuesday July 19, 2022 Netflix has announced that it will acquire Animal Logic, an award winning animation and visual effects studio to strengthen its animation entertainment business.
